QC Inspector Responsibilities
I have been responsible for enforcing the company's quality plan, such as:
• Inspecting materials, equipment, or products for defects (this inspection
on all materials received at site and ensure materials to be used
confirming to contract plans and specifications).
• Measuring dimensions (Checks the preparation of foundations, checks
the correct preparation of reinforcement, The digging depth).
• Conducting tests (According to the ITP)
• Reporting and documenting any issues or non-conformities
• Recommending corrective actions or improvements
• Training or supervising other staff on quality procedures
• Raising non conformance reports for any violation
• Preparing daily inspection reports on field activities
• Prepares and develops Project ITPs and Method Statement in
coordination with Head Office QA/QC Manager.
• To maintain filing & records system of all QC activities ()
• Weekly QC Report to the Client
Note; My job is to ensure that the quality plan approved by the client is carried
out in practice, through the various mechanisms
At Saipem Project I went there as a quality supervisor, it was a big responsibility
because it was one of the biggest projects, but it was easier because we had several
quality inspectors and my mission was just to guide them, because the company
already had a quality management system.
But at NAG project (ALNG) It helped me to grow more because the work has been
done inside a gas plant in operation, our work has been to increase one more gas line,
for the project everything is well calculated, the demand for us to comply with the plan
is much greater, so customers have always been with us checking everything we do. So
it has required me to be one step ahead of them.
