FRANCISCO !5 RESUMO Neste trabalho foram avaliadas as características hematológicas da tilápia Oreochromis niloticus proveniente de viveiro de pesque-pague e de viveiro de piscicultura consorciada com suínos, entre agosto de 2008 e julho de 2004. Dez animais foram capturados mensalmente com rede, em propriedade de Nova Trento, SC, Brasil, para contagens totais de eritrócitos, trombócitos e leucócitos, contagem diferencial de leucócitos e avaliação do hematócrito e da glicemia. Os parâmetros físicos e químicos da água foram semelhantes nos dois sistemas estudados. A glicemia apresentou maiores valores (P < 0,05) nos animais do sistema de criação consorciada com suínos. O maior valor do número total de eritrócitos foi registrado em abril de 2004, nos animais do viveiro do pesque-pague, e em fevereiro de 2004, naqueles criados consorciados com suínos. Não houve diferença entre as outras variáveis hematológicas entre os dois sistemas de criação. Palavras chave: Orcochromis niloticus; tilápia; hematologia; pesque-pague; criação consorciada com suínos; Santa Catarina HAEMATOLOGY OF Oreochromis niloticus: COMPARISON BETWEEN FISH MAINTAINED IN A FISH FARM ASSOCIATED WITH PIGS AND IN FEE FISHING IN THE VALLEY OF TIJUCAS RIVER, SANTA CATARINA, BRAZIL ABSTRACT This work evaluated the haematological characteristics of tilapia Oreochromis niloticus from pond of fee fishing and pond of fishculture associated with pigs, between August 2003 and July 2004. Ten animals were monthly captured with net in a property situated in Nova Trento, SC, Brazil, to analysis of the total number of erythrocytes, thrombocytes and leucocytes, differential counting of leucocytes, and to evaluate the hematocrit and glucose. Water quality was similar in both systems. The glucose showed the highest values (P < 0.05) in fish reared in association with pigs. The highest total number of erythrocytes was registered on April 2004, in the animals from pond of fee fishing, and on February 2004, in those from the system associated with pigs. It was not observed significant difference in the other variables between the two systems of cultivation.
