  1. What is the importance of the banking system for Macroeconomics? The banking or financial system is very important for economic behavior; since it is essential for the general evolution of it; They are intended to make an adequate allocation of economic resources to achieve stability in financial and economic matters and also generate high security in payment systems. In addition, it is important to say that the banking system, together with the state, are the fundamental creators of the currency (in the case of Colombia it is the Bank of the Republic) who acts as an issuing entity exercising the monopoly of the gold market and the foreign currencies, issuing normal or legal tender currencies. The resources acquired through this mechanism are called international reserves, which constitutes the monetary base; since through them the multiple expansion of partial reserves is generated, which determines the money supply or currency in circulation (Universidad Militar Nueva Granada, Sf)
