TOPIC: South Korea's cultural richness and economic and educational opportunities. The following activity is for all the students in levels V-VI-VII and VIII Listen to this interview and write down the answers our interviewee gives in summary form. QUESTION 1 South Korea has gained global recognition thanks to K-pop, dramas, cuisine, and more. What elements do you consider essential to understanding Korea's cultural richness? sharon know explained that korean culture is loved worldwide because it has always been open to other cultures. influences like buddhism, confucianism, and western music were adapted and mixed with korean traditions to create something new. this creativity and openness are key to korea’s cultural success. QUESTION 2 How does this culture influence the daily lives of Koreans today? sharon know said that korea’s cultural success also led to economic success, as cultural exports like k-pop and films generate income. education remains important, with many studying in the u.s. and europe, and these talented individuals helped create global cultural products. this success has changed korean society—now, careers in music, sports, and technology are as respected as being a doctor or professor. as a result, young people dream differently and enjoy a more diverse cultural lifestyle. QUESTION 3 You're a teacher in our institution's Korean Language Program. How have students responded to the Korean language and culture? sharon know shared that ESPE recently launched a korean language program. it not only lets students enjoy korean culture but also opens opportunities to become korean teachers, join exchange programs, or study advanced fields like engineering and medicine in korea. it’s a path to both cultural and personal success. QUESTION 4 What educational opportunities does South Korea offer for international students, especially from Latin America? sharon know mentioned that korean universities offer full scholarships for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral students. these include a free year of korean language study, four years of tuition, and living expenses—around $1,000 per month. she said this information will be available soon on the esp website for those interested in applying

QUESTION 5

From your perspective as an economist, what stands out about the South Korean economic model? QUESTION 6 What message would you like to leave for young people who are interested in South Korea, whether for its culture, education, or economy? sharon know encouraged students to register for the korean class at ESPE, saying that korea is a very dynamic country with great opportunities for study. she invited everyone to learn the language and take the first step toward exploring korean culture and education.
