María Libia González Bedoya born on January 7, 1962 in the municipality of Pacora in the department of Caldas, daughter of Mrs. Margarita Bedoya López and Mr. Luis Pastor Gonzales Muñoz. She attended her secondary school at the Escuela Normal Superior San José de Pacora. At the age of 14 (1978), she entered the world of dressmaking, making multiple garments for her community and gaining great fame thanks to the excellent quality of her work. In 1986, she decided to study nursing, specializing in promotion and prevention. of diseases in rural areas, which means that he lent his good skills to people who lived far from health centers or hospitals. In 1993 she married Mr. José Duván Correa Cardona, from which two daughters were born. By the year 2000, they acquired the property of a piece of land (a farm), the reason why she left her nursing job to dedicate herself to the farm. Shortly after, she divorced her husband and had to sell the farm. As time went by, she and her brother Diego Mejía Bedoya came up with the idea of establishing a restaurant in her community, to generate more economic profits. This project was carried out in 2012, since then this business has produced enough to meet the needs of the home while living comfortably. María Libia Gonzales Bedoya is thus a woman recognized for her great abilities in different work fields and for being of great support to her community in different aspects.
