Rio de Janeiro Carnival In Brazil, it´s always in Februaty or March There´s a parade with big floats. There´s music in the streets. People wear colorful costumes. They dance and have fun. The carnaval is all day and all night. Many people don´t go to bed that night. It is a very important holiday in Brazil that is celebrated before Lent. It is an opportunity for people to have fun, relax and celebrate life through music, dance and costumes. Diwali In India. Diwali is usually in October or November. People decorate their homes with lamps, candles and lights. People put lots of pretty lamps in their homes for the festival. They look at the lamps and think about their family and other people in the world. It´s a very big festival for Hindu people in India, and for Hindus all around the world. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy. Eid Date depends on the lunar calendar, it is celebrated throughout the Islamic world. Eid is a big Muslim festival. People give presents to children and Friends. Eid presents are usually money, or things like toys, candy, and new clothes. At eid, Muslims think about other people in the world. They give food and money to hungry people and sick people. People wear new clothes. They get up, wash, and put on their new clothes. They eat dates and cookies for breakfast. Then they go to pray at the mosque. Lost of people hug their Friends. Later, they eat with their family. They also visit their grandparents, and say, ‘Happy Eid!’. Twelfth Night Three kings is celebrated by Christian people in Spain and around the world, and the Date is in the month january, 12 nights after Christmas. In some countries, people eat and make a big cakes. There are lots of parades, with people in costumes. People throw candy to children in the streets. On twelfth Night, Spanish children put their shoes under the Christmas tree. In the morning, they find presents in their shoes. Cherry Blossom In Japan, it is a celebrated in the spring between January and April. They sit and eat, and they look at the Cherry blossom. People have picnics under the Cherry tres. In Japan, people love Cherry blossom, Maybe it´s the prettiest season of all. It´s usually sunny and there are lots of flowers.
Chuseok In South Korea,it is a celebrated in fall in the moth from September or October. In the EE.UU, the festival is in November, In Canadá, it´s in October. In Europe, after the harvest. Sometimes people also dance. People have dinner withe their family. They dance and ding songs Families eat traditional food like rice cakes. They eat turkey and pumpkin pie. People wear traditional costumes and they dance with wreaths. Girls wear crownsmade of flowers. There´s a big festival. It´s the season of the harvest. Farmers cut the crops and pick the fruit. Afer the harvest, people want to soy think you for the Good things in the world. Vesak day Like most religious holidays in India and other South Asian countries, it is celebrated in the month May. Vesak is celebrated by visiting Buddhist temples and making offerings to Buddha statues. On this day, Buddhists think about Gotama Buddha – he was a great teacher in India. On Vesak Day in Indonesia, thousands of birds fly into the sky. Vesak Day is cometimes called Buddha´s Birthday. The people in the Vesak Day decorate statues of Gotama Buddha. Midsummer In Finland, Russia and Sweden, it´s celebrated in june, it´s summer in Europe. People make big bonfires. They make a big pole with flowers and leaves. They dance around the pole and sing songs. People sing and dance all night. Girls pick flowrs and make pretty crowns. They throw the crowns into a lake or a river.
