1. Principal Character: The central figure of the plot, a woman celebrating her birthday. As the story unfolds, details about her relationships with the other characters and the conflicts that arise are revealed. 2. Best Friend: The protagonist's best friend, secretly in love with her husband. Her resentment towards the protagonist might lead her to act ruthlessly, seeking revenge. 3. Husband: The protagonist's husband, unaware of his wife's extramarital affairs. As the story progresses, he begins to suspect his wife's actions and those of the other characters. 4. Ex: The protagonist's ex, with a revenge agenda due to their breakup. His presence at the birthday party triggers unexpected and dangerous events. 5. Lover: The protagonist's lover, who also attends the birthday party, unaware that other significant people in the protagonist's life are also present. His clandestine relationship with the protagonist might put him in a dangerous position as the other characters try to protect their interests. 6. María's Brother (Raúl): María's brother, who just watches everyone die and laughs. I’m so excited to have you all here.
(MARÍA blows out the candles and everyone applauds. But before she can take a bite of the cake, EX intervenes.) EX: (Triumphant) Wait a moment! I have something to say! (Everyone stops and looks at EX with surprise.) MARÍA:(Incredulous) What are you doing here? EX:(With a malevolent smile) Oh, I just wanted to make sure everyone knows the truth about you, dear. LOVER:(Alarmed) What truth? HUSBAND:(Looking at EX with fury) What are you implying? BEST FRIEND: (Nervous) What’s going on here? EX:(Laughing) Oh, it’s simple! María has been playing with all of us. But no more. (EX takes out a bottle of poison and shows it to the group with satisfaction. Just then, there’s a knock on the door. MARÍA goes to open it, revealing RAÚL, MARÍA’s brother.) RAÚL:(Entering with a smile) Happy birthday, sis! Hope I’m not too late. MARÍA:(Surprised) Raúl! Just in time. Please, sit down. ● Act 4 (Each character, with their own hidden plans, begins to act. LOVER and HUSBAND try to discreetly poison each other’s drink.) LOVER:(To himself, pouring a glass of wine) This toast will be his last. HUSBAND:(To himself, switching glasses) Enjoy your last drink. (Meanwhile, BEST FRIEND and EX try to poison MARÍA’s drink but get confused in the process.) BEST FRIEND:(Whispering) Here’s the poison, add it to her glass. EX:(Confused, mixing glasses) Yeah, sure, let me do it. (RAÚL watches everything with curiosity, unaware of the malicious intentions.)
RAÚL:(Raising a glass) To my sister’s birthday! MARÍA: To an unforgettable night! Everyone: Cheers! (In the chaos of the toast, the glasses get mixed up. LOVER drinks the poison intended for HUSBAND, and vice versa. EX and BEST FRIEND, in their confusion, end up drinking the poisoned glasses they prepared for MARÍA. RAÚL, inadvertently, switches his glass with one of the conspirators.) LOVER: (Coughing) What… what is this? HUSBAND: (Dizzy) I don’t feel well… EX: (Confused) But the poison was for… BEST FRIEND: (Fainting) It can’t be… RAÚL: (Seeing the chaos and putting down his glass) Alright, everyone, let's not panic. (Reaches into his bag and pulls out a stethoscope) As a doctor, I’ve been trained for emergencies. (Checks BEST FRIEND's pulse) She's out cold, but her pulse is still strong. Looks like we need to induce vomiting. MARÍA:(Panicked) Raúl, what’s happening? RAÚL: (Calmly) María, it looks like someone has been poisoned. (To the group) If anyone else feels dizzy, try to stay calm. (To EX, who is stumbling) You, take deep breaths. Slow and steady. (Grabbing a nearby pitcher of water) I need to make sure everyone is hydrated. (Hands water to BEST FRIEND and LOVER) EX: (Desperately) It wasn’t supposed to be like this! RAÚL: (Laughing slightly) Poisonings rarely go as planned. (Checking HUSBAND) You're next. Let's get some charcoal tablets in you if we have any. MARÍA: (Still in shock) Raúl, how can you be so calm? RAÚL: (With a grin) Years of medical training, sis. Plus, nothing like a little family drama to spice up a birthday. (Checks LOVER) You're going to be okay, but we need to get everyone to the hospital ASAP. (To everyone) Alright, folks, looks like we have multiple poisonings. Everyone, remain calm and let's head to the ER. I'll drive. (RAÚL, still maintaining his professional demeanor, helps MARÍA and the others as they make their way out. He can't help but chuckle at the absurdity of the situation.)
