Uncommon Sports in Peru
WEEK 07, a NOT VERY Common Sport IN
PERU
Ice Hockey
Ice hockey is a sport played between two teams of six players each on an ice
rink. The objective is to score goals by shooting a rubber puck into the
opposing team's net using a long stick. The team that scores the most goals
by the end of the game wins.
Ice hockey is a popular sport in countries like the United States and Canada,
where it originated in Montreal, Canada. However, it is not a very common
sport in Peru. This is because Peru does not have the necessary
infrastructure, such as ice rinks, to support the sport. Additionally, it is
considered a foreign sport and may not be as appealing to the Peruvian
audience, who may find it boring compared to more popular sports in the
country.
Fencing
Fencing is a combat sport that involves touching an opponent with a white
weapon, such as a foil, epee, or sabre. The player who touches the opponent
the most times wins the point.
Fencing is governed by the Sports Federation, but it is not a very common
sport in Peru. This is because it is not an easy sport to learn and requires
specialized equipment and training. Additionally, it may not be as accessible
or popular among the general population in Peru compared to other sports.
