Corporation 6- Located in Australia
As the Head of the Finance Department in a prominent multinational corporation with
subsidiaries spanning various countries, the efficient management of cross-border cash
flows is paramount to our operational success.
Your company recently received USD XXX (Amount in US Dollar, which is the leftover from
the practice trading session) from a subsidiary in the United States. In response, the Finance
Department has undertaken a comprehensive analysis to ensure strategic utilization and
optimal management of these funds.
Primary task: With the US dollars that you have raised:
-For reserve purposes, your company must convert at least 5% of the US dollars (~
$250,000) to your local currency.
-Your company needs to pay for the raw material purchased from your supplier in
Japan; the estimated amount is JPY 50,000,000.
-You need to raise GBP 200,000 for lease payments for your retail stores in the UK.
-Pay lease for retail stores in the UK.
Note: The funds must be acquired as cheaply as possible
Secondary task: You may speculate if your supervisor allows, but you must be able to
explain your position to your General Manager at the end of the day.

    • Minimum deal amount of JPY 5,000,000 (5 million Japanese yen); Maximum deal amount of JPY 20,000,000 (20 million Japanese yen) per transaction.
    • Minimum deal amount of EUR 10,000 (0.01 million Euro); Maximum deal amount of EUR 50,000 (0.05 million Euro) per transaction.
    • Minimum deal amount of AUD 10,000 (0.01 million Australian dollars); Maximum deal amount of AUD 100,000 (0.1 million Australian dollars) per transaction. +No limitation for currencies other than those 5 currencies mentioned above
