In the introduction of the module it discuss about the
internet as a cultural transformation. Just imagine your daily activities at work, home,
and school without using the Internet or other computer-based devices. You would
be horrified if these essential items, which are an essential part of everything we do,
were gone. Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC) has resulted in the global
village concept. It benefits companies by creating a larger market for their products
and services, increasing output, and creating stronger bonds within the organization.
Hence, the internet as a cultural transformation has become easier because
information from one culture can be posted on the Internet and viewed by another
culture. This can be done through magazines, websites, and anything else on the
internet.
On the second topic, it is about CMC as a dynamic and
creative force. This focus is specifically on the impact of the internet on social
interaction the ways people construct their identities, make relationships and build
communities. After all, this is one of the most powerful opportunities opened up to us
by ‘new’ communication technologies. After that, we talked and create our own
definition of CMC and give it’s importance to human. In short, CMC is important most
especially this new generation where internet is a must to the students but also it is a
main instruments of Communication over long distances and different time zones
becomes convenient, removing the temporal and geographical limitations of face-to-
face communication.
