4.6 Billion years ago, there’s a cloud of gas and dust called solar nebula. A shock wave from a
nearby supernova explosion probably initiated the collapse of the solar nebula.
The sun formed in the center because the part of a giant
molecular cloud that consisted mostly of hydrogen and
helium collapsed. This scenario resulted the birth of many
other stars. Our sun was created from a protostar around 4.6
BC and went through several stages of development that
nearly took a trillion years to complete.
The material in the center of the cloud was squeezed so
tightly that it became hot enough to ignite nuclear fusion.
After the sun ignited, a strong solar wind cleared the system
of gas and dust. The asteroid represent the rocky debris that
remained.

Big Bang Theory

The rocky debris comes from the explosion are called asteroids. Mercury formed about 4.5 billion years ago when gravity pulled swirling gas and dust together to form this small planet nearest the Sun. Mercury has a central core, a rocky mantle, and a solid crust. The sun has blasted Mercury with a plasma wave. A gigantic plasma wave that occur drastically exploded.

QUESTION NO. 5 Rocks: Group of students were assigned to spend their time in their respective field work as part of their requirement in GEOL101 (e.g., BS Earth Science, Geology course) and they obtained this rock sample embedded within the vicinity of Mt. Pinatubo. They noticed that using an instrument that have evaluated the rock having the structure, and texture being inequigranular-equigranular (refering to the rock with black arrow). However they have also seen a piece of boulder where the rock is embedded and displays almost similar structure, but the only difference is the display present on the surface, as well as its color to be leucocratic. With that having said (a) what type of rocks does these two can be classified into? (b) What example of rock (from your answer in part (a)) does the two samples can be classified as? (c) Explain the mechanism involved on how these two rock sample has almost the same characteristics but classified differently. ➢ I believe that both of the images can be categorized as igneous rocks because they both have leucocratic colors, but one of the images contains quartz with minimal touch of mica and also, the other has low calcium and other minerals that are common to that particular rock. ➢ The first picture can be classified as a granite due to its quartz with minor mica composition and the second picture can be classified as diorite due to its low-calcium and minerals composition. ➢ Yes, these two has almost the same characteristic but it doesn’t mean that those two different rocks have the same structure or type. They differ on composition and color. Example, the igneous rock has light leucocratic color with quarts with minor mica and the diorite rocks have a leucocratic color that has low-calcium composition.
