ASEANcapitalmarkets,forinstance,arestillindividuallysmallforthemainpart,andthe range of products and openness within ASEAN remains low.This threat of marginalisationhasactedasacatalystforgreatercapitalmarketintegrationinASEAN. Therefore,regionalintegrationthatallowsforgreatercross-borderaccesstoinvestors andissuersregionallyandgloballycanhelpbroadentheinvestorbaseandrangeof products,therebystrengtheningdomesticcapitalmarketsandprovidestheliquidity, scaleandcapacitytocompeteglobally. UndertheScheme,issuersseekingtoissueequityordebtsecuritiesinmorethanone ASEANcountrywillberequiredtoprepareonlyonesetofdisclosuredocuments,with additionallimitedwraparoundformulti-jurisdictionoffers.Integrationwillalsohasten thedevelopmentofthelessdevelopedcapitalmarketsintheregionastheyareableto benefitfrom theexperiencesofthemoredevelopedASEAN marketsandaccelerate theiradoptionofinternationalstandards.ThereisthereforeastrongcaseforASEANto
