Procedure text is a text that explains, informs, or helps the reader on how to make or use something.
Purpose of Procedure Text
The purpose of procedure text is to show how something is made/used/done through sequence of
steps.
Generic Structure of Procedure Text
Structure of procedure text there are:
1. Goal or purpose.
2. Materials or tools.
3. Steps or methods.
Language Features of Procedure Text
1. Action Verb, e.g put, heat, mix etc.
2. Imperative Sentences, e.g. put the flour in to the bowl, heat the pan, mix the 2 egg etc.
3. Conjuction of sequence, e.g. first, second, finally, the last, etc.
Kinds of Procedure Text
There are two kinds of procedure texts.
1. The text that explains how to do or use something. E.g. how to operate a komputer, how to use a
camera, etc.
2. The first is a text that explains how to make something. E.g. recipe, rule for game etc.

How to Make Pancakes Ingredients: 1 cup all purpose flour An egg 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt Unsalted butter/vegetable oil

1 cup milk 2 tablespoons sugar For toppings: use maple syrup, honey, chocolate syrup or jam

Steps:

  1. Take a large bowl and mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Make sure the ingredients are perfectly mixed.
  2. Pour in milk, beaten egg, and oil. Mix all the ingredients until smooth.
  3. Heat a frying pan with medium high heat.
  4. Add some butter or vegetable oil.
  5. Scoop the pancakes batter by using a ladle.
  6. Cook until it is brown on the both sides then put it in a plate.
  7. Continue till all the pancakes batter run out. Just remember to add more butter or vegetable oil.
  8. When all the pancakes are cooked, you can add some topping. I myself prefer chocolate syrup as the topping.

Here are the instructions:

  1. Mash the tempe with a fork.
  2. Put the mashed tempe in a bowl and mix with the flour and Royco, followed by an egg.
  3. Shape the tempe into the size of a golf ball and flatten a little with a fork.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a medium flame. When the oil is hot, drop the tempe into the oil, five or six at a time. Fry until golden brown on both sides, drain on absorbent paper and serve hot with chili or sauce.
