- On or about October 14, 2020 around 6:20 PM, a shooting incident transpired in front of Mabuhay Elementary School located in Maxingal, Lal-lo, Cagayan. The victim was identified as one Mauricio Aquero Poblacion, 21 years old, single, a college student of Sta. Maria University of Lal-lo and a resident of San Jose, Lal- lo, Cagayan.
- Initial investigation revealed that the victim was walking along the national highway when a lone unidentified gunman aboard a Honda Beat 110, color red, of unknown plate number suddenly stopped and shot the victim four times in the torso. The unidentified suspect fled northward towards Jurisdiction, Lal-lo thereafter.
- The victim Mauricio Aquero Poblacion who sustained multiple gunshot wounds was rushed to Don Marcel General Hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.
- The motive behind the incident is still unknown.
