and consists of 10 syllables. its structure is three quatrains, it can also be called a four-line stanza, and
there is a rhyming couplet at the end, and there are two-line stanzas. The rhyme scheme of
Shakespeare sonnets is abab- cdcd- efef -gg, and basically this is known. Some lines in the sonnet can
sum up the Sonnet, and sometimes something shocking can be said that makes the opposite corner in
the last couplet is one of the features of these Shakespearean sonnets. Shakespeare is thought to have
written these sonnets almost in the 1590s or early 1600s. As he was influenced by the Renaissance
period in this history, innovations and different perspectives and approaches in that period were also
reflected in his poems. Shakespeare's sonnets, on the other hand, usually deal with period-specific
topics, focusing on Love and close friendship. The themes of the sonnets are; death, nature,Love,
woman, pain, romance,God,Faith, and so on. It is individual poems. he makes praise or bad criticism
through indirect expression, not direct. many of his sonnets are related to love
Sonnet 130 also consists of 14 strings, and its last two strings give the main idea of the poem. The
poem describes female beauty and is written in a manner contrary to Petrarchan's sonnets. beauties
mentioned by society as female characteristics are associated with some nature workers, such as the
sun or red coral. But when we look at this poem, Shakespeare approaches this whole point of view
differently, my mistress's eyes don't look like the sun, or my mistress's lips aren't as red as coral," I
think he mocks the stereotypes used by poets. other writers always compare women to beautiful things
in a clichéd way. But Shakespeare says, but my woman is not what they describe about how women
look, and that's what makes her special, because she's unique, rare in herself.I mean, he's more realistic
about things and he's showing us that. We can say that this poem is an important example of a
Shakespearean sonnet. In everything in the Renaissance, there are not standards, but different thoughts
than usual thoughts, describing love in another way, so Shakespeare shows us this difference. We also
have a theme of nature and love. For this reason, we can say that it reflects the unusual nature of the
Renaissance period.

KÜBRA KILIÇ

Sonnet 144 mentions a love triangle. writer, tell me you have two loves. He talks about a dark woman he thinks is torturing himself, and a man with whom he has a romantic connection. one is comfort to him, and the other is torment, despair. we can also portray him as a devil and an angel. He says he's trying to seduce himself in his two souls. He can't stop feeling lust for her, especially if he talks about her as bad. It shows that a person can easily deviate, despite his beliefs.for this reason, at the end of the poem, it is considered that the woman wins because it has an effect on men. It takes the female writer even more control. There is a corrupting influence of women. However, this bisexuality affects him psychologically, creating a mess. This love of the two sexes can be a critique of the Victorian era. Along with the Renaissance period, such gender norms begin to break down, so this poem may be an example of the gender and freedom of thought brought about by the Renaissance period. In addition, the author's coexistence and mental state can also be a reflection of the importance given to the person of individuality, which is considered together with the renaissance, in addressing the psychological and spiritual states of the person. Sonnet 138, this poem is about love and old age. Sonnet 138-an ironic take on inaccuracies and mistakes in love, there is confusion here.Of course, as in other sonnets, the definition of love and love is given very differently here. When we read the poem, we understand that the author describes the love affair between her and the woman. Looking at the poem: he says he's obviously lying to me, and I'm lying to him, but about what? He says he thinks of me as a young man, but I'm actually old. In fact, he likes this lie because, to be honest, he doesn't want to admit that he's old. Then he's lying to her, too. Every time she tells him,’ I'm loyal to you and I'm not cheating on you," he believes her, even though he knows she's lying. Normally, lying is considered something that ends love, and Lovers Do not lie to each other in poetry or in reality as we know it. But our author doesn't think that way. He says that in reality love is made up of lies and it should be that way, because people can't escape lying to each other, so they treat each other as if they trust each other. Therefore, this is a poem to say because it's Renaissance the author dealt with the subject of love, but that makes it in an unusual way, with the idea that your love is a lie and tells him known ‘love’ out of the idea, so different ideas in this renaissance period emerged, and it proves that this poetry is poetry of the Renaissance. As a result, I initially tried to explain the characteristics of Shakespearean sonnets and how they came about. I also wrote down what I understood from the sonnets and their details, which I thought reflected the period, and gave brief information. I analyzed 3 sonnets. I explained how they showed the effects of the period as much as I could and tried to interpret them. In this way,we also saw how Shakespeare sonnets convey characteristics, subjects, themes, and characteristics of the period.
