Ladies and gentlemen, fellow speakers, dear friends, Good Morning!
When I was younger and much more innocent I used to wonder how great it is to
become a role model for everyone around me. But now that I am on my age and to see
what’s the real state of the Youth in our country, I think we’re all disappointing those
people who’s looking above us. We are all aware that we’re facing a lot of problems
right now, for example those students who’s been suffering from depression and
anxiety that leads to involving in drug related cases. This is not what I’ve been
dreaming of, seeing our present condition definitely this is not what our National Hero
wished and died for, Dr. Jose Protacio Rizal Mercado Y Alonzo Realonda believes
that “Ang Kabataan ang Pag-asa ng Bayan”, but how can we prove it to the world
now?, how can we assure to our beloved National Hero that we can be our country’s
hope for the next few years?
We need each other, to have unity, to bring change in our country, we need the
true act of nationalism and not a mere pretence of charity. As the Youth we need to
prove them that we can be a good example for the next generations to come. I do say
that we must win and reach our goal, by deserving it, by improving the mind and
enhancing the dignity of the individual, even to the point of dying for it. We don’t
need to show them all the rooms of medals and diplomas that we have, all we need to
do is to show them our true and real personality and our actions and decisions that
might change our life. Don’t feel being alone, or if you ever feel depressed and
stressed right now, look at your side there’s always who can be your guide.
Remember that we have each other, we all need to be together, in order to prove them
that we can be a good role model for our brothers and sisters for the future generation.
We have to accept our mistakes and wrong doings, and be better for the next actions
and decisions that we’ll do.
With that my friends, allow me to say this to all of you. As a Youth, I believe that
we can change for the better, we can prove them that we can be a good example in our
own way. I don’t want to lose hope, I believe that we can bring back our image to our
society. As long as we are all together for each other.
Indeed we, the Youth of today will past in the torch of enlightenment that the
people and our great heroes just like Rizal have given us, with the strong conviction
that they have not die in vain after all.
