Q1 An 18-month old boy is brought to the Emergency department following an episode of shaking uncontrollably and frothing at the mouth which lasted for approximately 2 minutes. On assessment he is responding to speech but is very sleepy. His temperature is 39.5 degrees centigrade and his parents say he has had a runny nose, cough and temperature over the past few days. Discuss the nursing care and management of this boy in the Emergency Department. (100%) Q2 Joan an 18-year old female has presented to the Emergency Department following a row with her boyfriend. She states she has taken 40 tablets of paracetamol in the last hour and she wants to die. She has slurred speech and there is a strong smell of alcohol from her breath and the paramedics found an empty paracetamol bottle. Critically discuss the assessment and management of Joan while in the emergency department.
