San Antonio National High School is situated in Barangay San Antonio, Makati City. Many people are unaware that the barangay used to be called Barrio Camachile before it was known as San Antonio Village. However, the street still bears the name Camachile. Previously, the Makati Polytechnic University or Pamantasan ng Makati was located in Barangay San Antonio before it moved to Barangay West Rembo and became the University of Makati. The school was formerly known as Makati West High School and started on June 16, 1986. Mrs. Teresita V Cruz served as its first principal from 1986 to 1987 while Mr. Ruben H Santos replaced her from 1987 to 1988. Mrs. Teodora A Tongko became the school's administrator from 1988 to 1990 and was instrumental in having the Makati West High School endorsed by the Municipal Government of Makati and placed under the supervision of the Department of Education, Culture, and Sports on
August 21, 1989. On January 25, 1997, the school was renamed San Antonio National High School. Although the school still preserves its old building with 5 floors, a new main building with 4 floors has been added. San Antonio National High School is one of the top schools in Makati, excelling in sports, academics, and leadership, such as its boyscout team. The students are called "San Antonians," and according to one of them, the school canteen has reopened after being closed for a year due to the pandemic. Since the pandemic started, there has been a significant increase in the number of students, and each level now has more than 10 sections with over 50 students each. The schedules of each level are divided into morning and afternoon sessions because even with two buildings, there are not enough rooms for all students. The student also mentioned that there have been many facility improvements that have made the school more comfortable.
