I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate understanding of how different structures of the
circulatory and respiratory systems work together to transport oxygen-rich blood
and nutrients to the different parts of the body.
B. Performance Standards The learners should be able to conduct an information dissemination activity on
effective ways of taking care of the respiratory and circulatory systems based on
data
gathered from the school or local health workers.
C. Learning Competencies/Objectives Explain how the respiratory and circulatory systems work together totransport
nutrients, gases, and other molecules to and from the different parts of the body.

How can I find out what I want to learn? What did I learn? Skills I expect to use: B. Establishing a Purpose for the Lesson Breathe In! Breathe Out!
  • The teacher will allow the students to breathe in and out. The students will

describe what happen to your chest and belly. C. Presenting Examples/Instances of the New Lesson FIND ME! Directions : Look at the letters vertically, horizontally and diagonally and find the differrent terms related to respiratory system. D. Discussing New Concepts and Practicing New Skills #1 Video Presentation: Respiratory system Directions: A. Label each part based on the given hints, then answer the guide questions. B. Identify what part of the respiratory system is being describe by the function below. a) Empty tube that serves as passageway of air into the lungs. b) The only externally visible part of the respiratory system, air enters it through the nostrils. c) Hair like tubes that connect to the alveoli. d) Airsacs that allow gas exchange in the lungs. e) Two branching tubes that connect the trachea to the lungs. Guide question:

  1. How will you describe the pathway of oxygen in the breathing system? --From the nose and mouth, oxygen travels to the trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, and then into the alveoli. F. Developing Mastery(leads to Formative Assessment THINK QUICK and CREATE! Directions:  The class will be divided into 3 groups.  Each group will be asked to construct a bunch of grapes model that shows the parts and function of the respiratory system and they will answer the guide question below: What does each part of the “Bunch of Grapes” model represent, in relation to the breathing system?  Each group will present their work.
