Write 3 examples of each type of websites:
1) Search engine:It is like the yellow pages. You can use it to get information on any specific topic by
entering the name or word in the search engine field to get links to information.
2) Informational website: This is such a unique website that you not only get information on what you
want but if you have any information, you can share it on this site and edit it too. You can also create
your own informational website about your business or any other topic.
3) Personal website:Anybody can create their own website. It can be used for communicating with friends
and relatives and for job searching and promotion too.
4) Blog:Any individual or group can create their own blog. You can put your thoughts there about your
experiences, activities etc. and discuss any topic there. A person who participates in the blog is called a
blogger and his activities are called blogging.
5) Corporate website:Most of the companies have their own website. It gives details about the business,
their clients, products, services etc.
6) Forum:There can be different types of forums like technology, psychology, finance, banking etc. You can
participate in the discussion, post your questions or reply there and express your ideas.
7) E-commerce or online stores:It is a kind of website where you can buy or sell your products or services.
There are many online shops of different brands and companies. You have to place your order there and
pay online for your product.
8) Email:You can send and receive emails on the web from sites.
9) File-sharing website:You can download or upload your favorite images, music, films and videos on
these websites. Some are free and some are with paid membership.
10) Social Networking website:You can find your relatives and friends here if they have an account. You can
communicate with different kinds of people, sharing your interests, photos, and videos etc & it
strengthens your contacts.
11) Portfolio website: A portfolio website allows creative professionals a place for showcasing their best
work.
12) Landing pages: A landing page is a specific page type created for a marketing campaign that drives
visitors to take a specific action.
