Life Inside the Womb by Discovery Channel Body Atlas: A Reflection Paper Pregnancy is a complex and fascinating process that evokes various emotions and questions. It is considered one of the most beautiful yet challenging part of women's lives, yet it is also a great mystery. It is a natural and normal phenomenon, and it is crucial for women to understand what happens during this nine-month period and how to manage it to avoid problems and keep things on track for their baby's sake. In the Womb is a Discovery Channel Body Atlas documentary film that follows Valerie, a pregnant woman's journey, from conception to the birth. It focuses on the zygote's development inside her womb, as well as the physiological and psychological changes that occurred during the nine month pregnancy. Furthermore, sociological and biological factors evolve as pregnancy progresses. Throughout the film, both the woman and her partner emphasize the importance of emotional support and empathy as well as the importance of being aware of the baby's movements, such as thumb sucking and lippalming, and the potential impact of being careless on the baby's development. If the mother falls onto a wet surface, the baby may develop lippalm as a result of the thumb sucking movement in the womb. I also learned the significance of a mother's awareness of the sounds and activities that can affect the baby's health and development. Additionally, there are also dangers in loud noises, and other factors which can affect the baby's intelligence and development. The film perfectly captured the important moments and could serve as a guide for pregnant women and their partners as it offers valuable insights into motherhood and the difficulties of childbirth. It educates everyone, making it a valuable resource, especially for young people because pregnancy is a complex process that is particularly challenging and dangerous for teens. Knowing the difficulties of motherhood will also remind us of the importance of being grateful to our own mothers who put their lives in danger for us. The fact that their sacrifice didn't end upon bringing us to this world but still continues until today should be applaud and deserves more of our attention and appreciation everyday.
