A. Preparation of Detailed Project Engineering

 Finalization of technical design

 Formulation of specifications and cost estimations

 Preparation of contract documents and bidding operations

B. Arrangement of Legal Papers to Operate

 Business permit and licenses

 Municipal/mayor’s clearance

 Approval from city/provincial engineering office

 Registration from BIR, DTI, BO, DENR and concerned

agencies

E. Actual Project Implementation and Operationalization

▸ In setting project implementation strategies, the take-off point is the operational feasibility of the project. ▸ 2 considerations: ▹ Operational Feasibility ( in terms of political acceptability, legality and social soundness); and ▹ Operational Feasibility (in terms of organizational and managerial design best suited for the project considering its nature, manpower and other constraints including the environment in which to operate). Note:

Common Causes of Project Failure ▸ Pre-maturely implementing a project without considering other components. ▸ Overestimation of benefits and underestimation of costs that may lead to un-attainment of target, and delayed implementation and cost overrun. ▸ Poor technical judgement ( assumption that respondents will respond positively or negatively). ▸ Interpersonal conflicts and political interference

Common Causes of Project Failure ▸ Interpersonal conflict and political interference that leads to temporary paralysis of the project. ▸ Untimely and inadequate release of funds ▸ Diversion of funds to other use ▸ Others

Common Causes of Failure : Agribusiness Enterprise ▸ Poor credit collection ▸ Inventory mismanagement ▸ Unattended business activity due to overlapping functions ▸ Lack of market0orientation ▸ Competition ▸ Family pilferage ▸ Low sales ▸ Others

Risk-taking Becomes Less-RiskyYour First Consideration ▸ Do not rush into things that you cannot handle ▸ Your Management Team ▸ Develop common value system ▸ Be selective in your choice of manpower ▸ Financial Consideration ▸ Ensure adequate capitalization ▸ don’t” give-away” your equity

Risk-taking Becomes Less-RiskyLeading and Managing People ▸ Pay for performance, especially for long-term performance ▸ Don not afraid to delegate ▸ Encourage entrepreneurial thinking throughout your organization
