-Media plays a significant role in shaping our understanding of gender roles and expectations. TV shows, movies, and advertisements often portray stereotypical gender roles, reinforcing societal norms. As a result, media influences how we perceive ourselves and others based on gender, leading to self-esteem issues and body image concerns.

  4. Diversity of Voice - Social media allows marginalized genders to share their stories and challenge stereotypes directly.
  5. Body Positivity Movements - Platforms can be a space to promote healthy body image and challenge unrealistic beauty standards.
  6. Social Movements: Hashtags and online communities can raise awareness about gender equality issues and mobilize action. PROGRESS AND CHALLENGESPositive Changes a) More female action heroes and protagonists defying stereotypes. Ex. If there is a superman there is also a superwoman. b) Increased diversity in media representation. c) Consumer demand for more inclusive advertising campaigns.  Challenges a) Underrepresentation of women in leadership roles in films and Tv. b) Limited portrayal of non-binary or gender-fluid identities. c) Persistence of unconscious bias in media production.
