All members excluding Mr. Jericho Torrenueva were able to attend the group discussion. CASE# 8 : A CASE ON TEENAGE UNWANTED PREGNANCY: TO ABORT OR NOT TO ABORT? Therese, a young lady whose parents are separated, stays with her mother and a stepfather. Her stepfather takes care of her needs. Therese was forewarned not to engage in a romantic relationship with any guy until she is able to finish college. Non-compliance to this rule would mean termination of financial support for her studies. Unknown to her mother and stepfather, Therese got herself involved in a relationship with a rich businessman. After some months in the relationship, she found herself to be pregnant. When the boyfriend got to know about it, he just decided to abandon her. Afraid of the consequences of her actions, she wants to have an abortion. PROPOSITION STATEMENT: Resolved, that it is justifiable for Therese to have an abortion in the case of teenage unwanted pregnancy because of the case of terminating the financial support and health risk of teenage pregnancy.
