Template for Workshop 2 (Designing an Intradisciplinal Performance Task (that is reflective of the four exits of the K to 12 programs in a VUCA world context to ensure SHS students’ analytical capabilities and capacities in addressing problems of the future) Expected Output: INTRAdisiciplinary Performance Task Performance Task (in GRASPS form): To address the increasing percentage of unemployed Filipinos, you decided to have a small business educational video that will be presented to a wide range of audience. Your goal as young entrepreneurs includes gathering of information regarding the things to be considered in putting up a business, modelling of the data using a specific function, and making of a sound-recommendation based on the experiences relative to putting up a business. To complete the task, you are expected to: a. Gather personal-based challenges on putting up a business; b. Determine a function that would model the flow of income; c. Prepare a graph that show the income of the business; d. List down the challenges encountered and present it through an infographic; e. Draft recommendations and suggestions in putting up a business. The business educational video will be evaluated according to the following criteria: a. completeness of content; b. accuracy of computation; c. presentation; d. application of mathematical concepts; and e. practicality of recommendations.
Transfer Goal “What in the long run after SHS can students do on their own with what they learned?” In the long run, the SHS Gen Math students will be able to identify and solve real life problems in the community by modeling and interpreting data using functions, recognizing, and applying appropriate solutions to improve financial - related situations that will lead to a logical solution for the community. The students can have the opportunity to work as financial experts, entrepreneur, researcher, marketing manager, or financial adviser. They will collaborate with each other to conceptualize a business and make preparation for the implementation. They’ll also present the business profit through modelling and graphics solution. As graduates of SHS, they can utilize their knowledge about financial literacy in applying jobs related to their acquired content knowledge especially in the field of bookkeeping, business management, Communication, Planning, Organizing, and Initiative, Problem-solving & Self- mgt., Learning, Teamwork Communication, Creative Thinking, Problem-solving, Technical
marketing, and networking. Skills on entrepreneurship will allow them to master the following set of skills: a. good and effective communication; b. solid business plan; and c. being able to market themselves and their ideas/products. The acquired knowledge of the students allows them to apply their technical knowledge, and gain practical experiences to foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities to avoid increasing percentage of unemployed Filipinos.
