Chapter 3 Analysis of Data/ Instrumentation The researcher reached an agreement with the students who would be involved in the study before administering the questionnaires to the student- respondents. The researcher distributed a copy of the Attitude and Perception on Facebook questionnaire to each student-respondent. After explaining the purpose of the questionnaires, she assured them of the confidentiality of the information gathered from them. She also made the questionnaire instructions clear to them. After retrieving the questionnaire the researcher had the raw data encoded and analyzed using the SPSS computer software. Weighted means, frequency distribution, and Pearson r generated using SPSS (see Appendix ___). Students were classified based on their gender and age. Students were divided into four age groups: 19-22, 23-24, 2—29, and 30 and above. The frequency distribution and the percentile were employed. Furthermore, the Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to determine the significant relationship between the students' profiles and their attitude and perception towards Facebook. To interpret the correlation value (r) obtained, she applied the following classifications (Sevilla, 1992): Between ±0.01 to ±0.19 Negligible correlation Between ±0.20 to ±0.39 Low correlation Between ±0.40 to ±0.59 Moderate correlation Between ±0.60 to ±0.79 Moderately high correlation Between ±0.80 to ±1.00 High correlation
